About the Wine Market
Luxembourg and the Saar region have a long-standing tradition of producing high-quality wines, and there is growing interest in exporting these wines to new markets, including eastern Europe. |
The Polish wine market has been steadily growing in recent years, with a lot of potential for growth, according to various sources. Wine Business International notes that in 2020, the total volume of wine sales in Poland reached over 240 million liters, with the market value reaching over €1.5 billion. The majority of wine consumed in Poland is imported, with Italy, France, and Spain being the top suppliers. Wine Intelligence reports that Poland is currently one of the top 5 wine markets in the world in terms of volume, with imported wines accounting for over 80% of the total wine market. The Statista report shows that the wine market in Poland is projected to grow steadily, with a projected revenue of US$1,631m in 2021 and a CAGR of 5.9% from 2021 to 2025. The report also highlights that the online wine market in Poland is on the rise, with a projected revenue of US$84m in 2021 and an expected CAGR of 11.3% from 2021 to 2025. Red wine is the most popular type of wine in Poland, accounting for 48.9% of the market share by volume in 2020, followed by white wine at 36.6%. This presents a great opportunity for winemakers in Luxembourg and the Saar region to tap into the growing demand for premium wines in the Polish market. The roundtable discussion during the event will focus on practical strategies and insights on how to successfully enter and grow in these markets. |
